Adoption Photographer | Traveling Day | Saying Goodbye

I am here in Chicago’s O’Hare airport, waiting for our flight to India to board… so I thought I would share a little about my day so far.

I got in late last night into Nashville and after organizing our stuff, we all went to bed. It was to be a BUSY morning. I woke up at 8 am to Eric and his son Grant rocking out to Guitar Hero…

and seeing the bags all lined up made the trip seem even more real!

So I did a little exploring around the house… here’s Dorothy’s (soon to be) room… I love the little girl clothes hanging in the closet…

Dean was playing his DS (Super Mario Bros) while Grant gave him pointers…

and Mom took care of Lael’s hair…

It was a morning of laughter and fun and an air of excitement…

and one last family photo before bringing Dorothy home. They left a space for her…:)

These guys are such cool people. I am so lucky.

Leaving the house, knowing the next time they would be here was with their new girl, was a bit emotional…

Tisra showed off her beautiful henna tattoo designs she got to celebrate her adoption!

And then it was off to Puckett’s for breakfast… super cool restaurant in Franklin that had great home-style food.

Then we dropped the kids off at their aunt and uncle’s house…

And we all joined hands and said a wonderful goodbye prayer… ♥

Our sea of bags at the airport… two of them clocked in at 45 pounds (whew! our limit was 50!).

IMG_7977

Look! Just to prove i was really there…

IMG_7978

Using our passports for the security checkpoint was pretty cool…

IMG_7980

and then there was a whole lot of waiting!

IMG_7983

FINALLY! We were heading to Chicago!!

IMG_7989

I love that they are under the Indian flags here (the orange/white/green ones with the circle in the middle)…

And we are off….! Hopefully my next update will be very soon. The flight to India from Chicago is 15 hours, all of which we are planning on staying awake for so we can be ready to sleep as soon as we get there (it will be 9pm India time when we arrive). Fortunately the Boeing 777 we are taking should be equipped with lots of movies, TV shows, and other fun stuff to keep us busy. And if not, we have a lot of books and movies between us… maybe I should go get myself a Monster drink just to be safe…:)

Jenny Scott - Thank you, thank you, thank you for going on this journey. Some are following who have never met Tirsa and Eric, such as ourselves, but have a daughter waiting at their orphanage as well. It is just a gift to be a part of the journey of someone else who has come to the end of the waiting. It gives us hope that ours travel date will also one day come. It makes it feel more real seeing someone else walk the journey. Your blog will be checked daily, will be prayed over and cried over as well. Thank you for heading the call.

Mary Kelso - I’m a friend of the Fadely’s here in Nashville. Thanks for the pictures already. I’m just in awe of what you are doing and I am so thankful that you are taking this journey with them. I cried at the picture of them all on the bed with the space left for Dorothy. I didn’t even know how emotionally invested in this little girl and her family I was until I saw that. Thanks.
